Engineering Technician - Automotive Manufacturing

The Engineering technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment, according to safety and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.    

       

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas (weekly 5S walks)
  • Perform diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment
  • Include issues and follow up PO for new equipment and service parts
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled troubleshooting of production equipment
  • Diagnose problems with programing and adjustment
  • HMI Troubleshooting
  • Minor robot position programming/adjustments (6 axis and Liner)
  • Vision system program creation/modification
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual
  • situations to proper supervision
  • Assist in cell layout design
  • Part fixture improvements and design(use of 3D software like CATIA or Autocad)
  • Diagnose problems with programing and adjust Mass Spec and all Plant Brazers                                                                                    


Experience:

4 years of manufacturing experience in a similar role or equivalent.  Strong in PLC troubleshooting (Mitsubishi and Allen Bradley), linear and 6 axis robot knowledge.  Some PLC programming, mechanical, pneumatic and industrial skills. 


Degree Preferred:

High School diploma/ GED required

Formalized PLC training course preferred

Associate or Bachelor's degree in applicable engineering field preferred (electro-mechanical technology)

  • Allen Bradley PLC experience
