Trillium Accounting | Remote | Contract Role

Trillium Accounting is a growing outsourced accounting firm that partners with business owners to provide high-level financial clarity through bookkeeping, controller, and CFO services. We are seeking an experienced Controller to support our expanding client base and strengthen the financial operations of the organizations we serve.

This role is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional who enjoys working across multiple clients, building structure, improving processes, and helping leadership teams make better financial decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee monthly close processes and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting

Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts

Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data across accounting systems

Implement and improve accounting processes and internal controls

Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

Prepare and review financial statements

Serve as a primary accounting contact for assigned clients

Partner with CFO-level leadership to support strategic initiatives

Assist with audit preparation and external accountant coordination

Support junior accounting staff and provide technical guidance

Qualifications

5+ years of accounting experience (public accounting and/or industry experience preferred)

Prior experience in a Controller or senior accounting role

Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting

Experience working with cloud-based accounting systems (QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, etc.)

High attention to detail with strong organizational skills

Ability to manage multiple clients and priorities

Strong communication and client-facing skills

Comfortable working in a contract, service-based environment
