GSW Manufacturing, Inc., an international manufacturer, and technology developer serving the wiring harness industry, seeks a detail oriented, Bill of Materials (BOM) Engineer who can see the bigger picture while still focusing on specifics. You will join a talented and collaborative Engineering Team at our Findlay, Ohio, headquarters. GSW Manufacturing, Inc.
Job Description
BOM Engineer I, working under the Engineering Manager, is responsible for creating circuit lists, maintaining accurate material lists, and working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate production data.
Responsibilities
What you’ll do…
- Circuit & BOM Management: Develop and revise circuit lists, approve BOMs and W-H cards, and support all GSW North American facilities with circuit list and BOM-related issues.
- Test Harness & VAVE Support: Create test harness drawings and circuit lists, quote and order test harnesses, verify BOMs during Ohio first-piece run-offs, and assist in the implementation of Value-Added Value Engineered (VAVE) activities.
- Customer & Supplier Coordination: Communicate with customers and suppliers to obtain necessary drawings and specifications, manage lead times, and ensure smooth collaboration.
- Engineering & Quality Compliance: Create and distribute EC notices, adhere to quality and environmental management systems, follow company policies and 5-S standards, and maintain customer confidentiality.
- Corrective & Preventive Actions: Identify, document, and implement solutions to quality and process issues, initiate actions to prevent defects, and support continuous improvement in quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.
**Note – This is a full-time, in-person role, standard work hours 8am – 5pm.
Qualifications
You’ll have…
- Associates or Bachelors degree in engineering or other related field.
- Ability to read and understand drawings and blueprints.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Production, Engineering, and Quality departments.
- Full knowledge of multi-level BOM’s.
- The ability to work and collaborate in cross-functional teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Even better, you may have…
- Experience in Bill of Materials.
- Basic knowledge of TS16949 quality and ISO 14001 environmental system requirements.
- Ability to communicate in a multi-cultural environment.
- Experience in manufacturing environment, automotive.
