Women's Mentoring Connection: Nurturing Innovation in Rural Communities

Women's Mentoring Connection: Nurturing Innovation in Rural Communities

Friday, May 6, 2022 (8:00 AM - 9:00 AM) (EDT)

Description

For many years, the economic argument for diversity and inclusion has been clear: companies with an above-average diversity rating create almost twice as much innovation revenue as their less diverse competitors. Rural communities should not miss out on this opportunity to increase growth and revenue, but developing a diverse workforce and community requires leaders that are willing to examine their own assumptions and biases. Join us for a discussion with local area leaders as they discuss their journey along this path.

Registration is free, but we encourage attendees to bring a donation of office supplies to benefit LGBTQ+ Spectrum of Findlay.

Panelists:
Melissa LaRocco, Legal Aid of Western Ohio
Kirby Overton, University of Findlay & a member of this year’s HL Class
Erin Schwiebert, Marathon Petroleum Corporation
Robin Walters-Powell, University of Findlay

Facilitator:
Jas Bradley, LGBTQ+ Spectrum of Findlay

“A circle of women may just be the most powerful force known to humanity. If you have one, embrace it. If you need one, seek it. If you find one, for the love of all that is good, dive in. You will be changed.” - ― Jeanette LeBlanc
