  • You will learn about the “rebuttable presumption” which can be used to defend a workers’ compensation claim when the employee has tested positive for alcohol or illicit drugs.
  • You will learn how to defend a workers’ compensation claim when the employee has tested positive for alcohol or illicit drugs and the “rebuttable presumption” is not available.
  • You will learn whether you should terminate an employee who has an active workers’ compensation claim and has tested positive for alcohol or illicit drugs.

Hancock County Safety Council holds regular meetings to increase awareness of a safe environment in the workplace. Safety Council is partially funded through the Ohio Department of Safety and Hygiene and meets once a month to inform participants of new safety techniques, services, and provide a thorough knowledge of topics, including occupational safety and health, workers' compensation, and risk management education
