Hancock County Safety Council holds regular meetings to increase awareness of a safe environment in the workplace. Safety Council is partially funded through the Ohio Department of Safety and Hygiene and meets once a month to inform participants of new safety techniques, services, and provide a thorough knowledge of topics, including occupational safety and health, workers' compensation, and risk management education

About our speaker:
Bridget Furchak is a Safety and Health Compliance Officer with the Toledo OSHA Office, having worked for OSHA for 6 years. She performs programmed and complaint-driven inspections of workplaces to identify any potential OSHA violations and provides guidance to employers on how to correct any identified hazards. As an Industrial Hygienist, she performs onsite sampling of various hazardous substances such as lead, asbestos, heat, carbon monoxide, and silica. Prior to working with OSHA, Bridget spent eight years working with food manufacturing companies as a Food Safety Specialist. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Madonna University, and a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of New England.
