About Tim Murphy:
Department Chair, Associate professor, Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health Management Programs, The University of Findlay. Prior to 1998, was employed in the environmental remediation, environmental emergency response, and public health fields since 1981. Fall 1981 to June 1983 was employed as Public Health Sanitarian/Planner for Roosevelt County Montana. During this time, I gained valuable knowledge in working with the public and implementation of inspection and enforcement programs as a public health sanitarian. The following 14 years were spent in the environmental remediation field employed as a Program Manager, Project Manager, Site Supervisor, Health and Safety Officer, and Technical Foreman.
About Carl Habekost:
Carl joined Bugbee & Conkle, LLP in 2010. In 2018, Mr. Habekost became head of the Labor & Employment department at Bug-bee & Conkle. Mr. Habekost represents employers in all aspects of safety law, workers’ compensation law, labor law, and employment law. In addition, Mr. Habekost has earned an advanced, executive-level safety certification as a Certified Occupational Safety Manager which enables him to develop skills to build and manage effective safety programs to reduce injuries and control costs. Mr. Habekost has also earned OSHA 30 hour Certifications in General Industry & Construction. Mr. Habekost successfully defends employers’ inter-ests at unemployment compensation hearings, before the Ohio Civil Rights Commission (OCRC) and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). He also represents employers at all injury and compensation hearings under the Ohio workers’ compensation law before the Industrial Commission of Ohio and the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation.
Hancock County Safety Council holds regular meetings to increase awareness of a safe environment in the workplace. Safety Council is partially funded through the Ohio Department of Safety and Hygiene and meets once a month to inform participants of new safety techniques, services, and provide a thorough knowledge of topics, including occupational safety and health, workers’ compensation and risk management education.
